New five story, 350 room visitors quarters
The project served as the seed project for the Mobile District’s Gulf Coast Region MATOC. The 202,078 SF project will consist of Guestrooms, Meeting Rooms, Front Desk/Lobby, and a Coffee Shop. The Visiting Quarters was designed and oriented to maximize the amount of rooms that allow the guests to enjoy the views of the Bay and Tampa skyline from their rooms.
Included as part of the project, is the construction of a Mock-Up Standard Guestroom. This Mock-Up is to be free-standing from the Visitors Quarters, and completed early enough in the project to facilitate adequate schedule for purchase of all fixtures, furnishings, finishes, and equipment. This Mock-Up is to be fully functional and include all concealed piping, HVAC units, ductwork, and wiring to verify there are no conflicts between building systems. Room shall include all actual finish hardware, and windows.
The project will incorporate applicable sustainable concepts into the facility to meet the requirements for a LEED Silver project. The projected construction schedule is 24 months.
Project was designed by Blair Remy Architects and US Army Corps pf Engineers and constructed by Carothers Construction, Inc.
